Registered Nurse
ProCare Therapy has partnered with a School District in the Sumter, SC area that is looking for a full time registered nurse for this school year. Please see additional details about this opportunity below:

Job Description: 

• Conducts hearing and vision screening tests and all other tests recommended by the State Board of Education and the Department of Health and Environmental Control.
• Assumes responsibility for selection and referral of students in need of medical and dental care.
• Reports to parents, school personnel, physicians, clinics, and other agencies on school medical matters.
• Maintains up-to-date cumulative health records on all students.
• Observe students on a regular basis to detect health needs.
• Assumes authority, in the absence of a physician, for the care of a student or staff member who has suffered injury or emergency illness.
• Contacts homes of children referred by principals for health reasons.
• Advises on modification of the educational program to meet health needs of individual students.
• Authorizes exclusion and readmission of students in connection with infectious and contagious diseases.
• Attends committee meetings and conference regarding health service and health curriculum.
• Performs all other duties and responsibilities designated
• Full Time

Qualifications:

• Requires a Bachelor of Science in Nursing
• Must be licensed in the state of SC
• Previous experience in schools preferred but not required
